Women drivers reminded about car servicing
- 9th March 2010
Female drivers in the UK need to remember to get their cars serviced regularly, according to an expert.
Steph Savill of Foxy Choice said the recent vehicle recalls launched by the likes of Toyota have highlighted how both old and new cars can have issues, so regular maintenance is a must.
She explained that even capable drivers who check oil, tyres and water levels can miss important issues, particularly as they lack the “ professional eye” needed to spot them.
Dangerous vehicles can also pose more than just a threat to the driver and could impact on cover, she added.
“Women drivers who own a poorly maintained car may find that their insurer withdraws cover if it can be proven that the accident was caused because the car owner had not carried out regular maintenance or had it serviced often enough,” she outlined.
Moneysupermarket.com recently called on motorists to not forget about booking in their car for an MOT.
