A recent article written by the Birmingham, Sandwell, Wolverhampton and Wednesbury edition of the Express and Star on Friday, May 1, 2009:
'A new drive-in car service centre enjoyed record takings when it opened its doors in Wednesbury. National chain IN’n’OUT has now opened its first branch in the region alongside B&Q on the Gallagher Retail Park, off junction nine of the M6. Nearly 100 customers passed through the doors on opening at the weekend – a company record for IN’n’OUT, which has five other branches around the country.
Bosses have also revealed plans to expand with more businesses in the West Midlands, including one earmarked for the Merry Hill shopping centre in Dudley. It is hoped the Brierley Hill branch could be open within a year, creating around 14 new jobs in the town. Developers, investors and business partners turned out yesterday for the corporate launch of the Wednesbury centre, off Axletree Way, with stuff on hand to demonstrate their quick-fire skills, which includes offering a full service in just half and hour.
Recruited
The company also offers MOTs with free repairs for minor problems such as wipers and bulbs, as well as full hand valeting. Services and MOTs are carried out across four lanes, each with specially constructed “zip pit” giving workers easy access underneath the vehicles. So far 14 staff have been recruited for Wednesbury, with up to three more new jobs expected within the next month. More than half of those taken on had previously been made redundant from other firms hit by the credit crunch. Ben Hunter from IN’n’OUT said they were bucking the trend during the current climate and planning a nationwide roll out to have 17 branches in place around the country by next year, with more to follow. “The strategy is to get positions nationwide as and when opportunities come up,” he said.'
