Mytyres.co.uk: Drivers have skidding fears
- 8th December 2009
Over half of drivers in the UK are concerned about skidding out of control on roads, new research has revealed.
The study by CCB fast.MAP, which was commissioned by retail website Mytyres.co.uk, found that 55 per cent of motorists would regard the issue as their worst nightmare when it comes to travelling in a car.
In news which may interest those considering car maintenance and servicing, it was also revealed that breakdowns are the second biggest fear of UK drivers, while just three per cent are concerned about punctures.
Commenting on the research, Mytyres.co.uk has called on motorists to ensure their tyres are comfortably over the legal minimum tread, stating that they should look to replace them at around 3mm.
Earlier this year, research by insurance provider RIAS found that 21 per cent of motorists never check their brakes or tyres apart from when booking their car into a garage for its annual MOT.
