Millers Oils issues winter warning for motorists
- 12th January 2010
Motorists in the UK can take several steps to ensure their vehicle is well-maintained in preparation for journeys in the current freezing conditions, it has been suggested.
Fuel treatment manufacturer Millers Oils has claimed in a column for the Rhyl Journal that drivers need to carry out a series of checks to ensure that their vehicles will hold up in the harsh weather across the UK.
It advises motorists to check anti-freeze levels, lubricate their engine, and ensure tyres are at the correct pressure and that the battery is also in a good condition.
Drivers should also check and replace windscreen wipers, use a high performance fuel treatment and warm the car up before travelling.
“Allow your car to sit for a few seconds once the engine has been turned so that a proper flow of oil has been established and there is adequate lubrication before driving off,” Millers explained.
Motor advice website DontKnowCars.com recently called on motorists to ensure they make regular maintenance a priority over the next 12 months.
