Car repairs ‘should be made as soon as possible’
- 1st October 2009
Motorists who are aware of problems with their car should get them serviced as soon as possible, according to an insurer.
Virgin Money has claimed that any damage to vehicles should be checked by a professional immediately, as general wear and tear could lead problems to escalate over time.
The company made the call after releasing figures claiming that October is the most dangerous month on the roads, as claims historically rise over the period as drivers get used to nights drawing in and more hazardous conditions.
Due to the potential dangers, the insurer called on motorists to keep their cars in the best condition possible, by checking oil and other fluid levels.
Grant Bather, spokesman at Virgin Money, added: “Motorists should pay extra attention when driving and should make sure that they are equipped should they have an accident or breakdown.”
Last month, insurance provider Ibuyeco suggested that regular checks on issues such as tyre pressure can help ensure vehicles are fuel efficient.
